Efficacy and Resistance to Targeted Anticancer Therapies

Anticancer therapies, including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, hormone therapies, and immunotherapies, are frequently limited by the development of resistance, which represents the leading cause of treatment failure and disease relapse in patients.

The objective of the Target team is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying therapeutic resistance in order to develop novel treatment strategies. Our research primarily focuses on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and prostate cancer (PCa). Although the mechanisms driving tumorigenesis and therapeutic resistance differ among these three cancer types, the team addresses these challenges using common conceptual and methodological approaches.

We investigate these cancers through an integrated view of intracellular signaling, from membrane receptors that initiate signaling cascades to transcription factors responsible for signal integration and downstream cellular responses. Our research is also highly translational, supported by our close collaboration with Lille University Hospital. This partnership enables us to address clinically relevant questions, benefit from patient-derived clinical data and biological resources, and facilitate the efficient translation of our findings into improved therapeutic strategies.
