CRCLille Presentation
Governance
The governance of CRCLille is based on several complementary bodies that ensure the scientific, strategic, and administrative management of the Unit.
The Unit Director (DU), Dr Isabelle Van Seuningen, is jointly appointed by the main supervisory institutions for a renewable term of up to five years. She is responsible for the scientific and administrative leadership of the Unit, chairs the Laboratory Council, prepares and implements the budget, and presents the annual financial report.
She is supported by the Deputy Director, Pr Natacha Prevarskaya, who is appointed upon the proposal of the Unit Director from among the Unit’s staff.
The Team Leaders, appointed by the Unit Director, define and implement the scientific strategy of their respective teams, supervise their staff, and present annual scientific and financial reports on their activities.
The Executive Committee (CoDir), chaired by the Unit Director and convened at least once a month, brings together the Deputy Director, the Team Leaders, and the Secretary General. It serves as the Unit’s strategic decision-making body, reviewing scientific priorities, internal organization, operational resources, and relationships with the supervisory institutions and external partners.
The General Assembly, bringing together all members of the Unit at least once a year, provides an opportunity to present and discuss the Unit’s achievements, ongoing projects, and future perspectives.
The Laboratory Council, composed of twenty members (ex officio members, elected representatives, and appointed members), is the Unit’s advisory body. It is consulted on the Unit’s major scientific orientations, budget allocation, human resources policy, and internal regulations.
Secretary General’s Office
The governance of CRCLille is supported by a Secretary General’s Office, headed by Ibrahima Thiam, which oversees the Unit’s administrative, financial, and operational coordination. It ensures the efficient functioning of the support services and assists the research teams in the implementation of their activities.
The Secretary General’s Office includes the Administrative and Finance Manager, Bruno Lesage, a Health and Safety Officer, Delphine Taillieu, responsible for occupational health, safety, and working conditions, as well as a team of seven administrative and financial officers providing dedicated support to the research teams.
An Integrated Scientific Environment
CRCLille is located within the ONCOLille Institute, a Scientific Interest Group (Groupement d’Intérêt Scientifique – GIS) that brings together expertise in biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, bioinformatics, humanities and social sciences, economics, and health technologies on a single campus. This multidisciplinary environment promotes interdisciplinary research and strengthens interactions between fundamental research, translational research, innovation, and clinical application.
